What optimising your bio on socials can do for you.

You may not think a Bio would have much impact on a first impression but they really do.

You should think of them as a first impression.

Your Bio is a way to communicate exactly who you are, what you offer and you must stand out!

If you have a properly optimized bio, your audiences are more likely to remember you, they are more likely to revisit you and are more likely to click through to your website.

So here are my top tips to optimize your social media bios:

  1. Use Hashtags and links
    • Doing so will give your audience easy access to your website or what you would like to link them to and sharing your hashtag means they will know what to use when creating UGC for you.
  2. Make it concise and easy to understand
    • It’s crucial that people can process the information in your bio. Formatting can be super helpful for this such as using line breaks or spacing. This makes things easier to read and to emphasize information.
  3. Use emoji’s
    • I’m not joking. Using emoji’s in your bio can be a great way to communicate the action you are wanting your audience to take. Such as ‘Click here for more info 👉’
  4. Include a compelling call to action
    • While the call-to-action buttons free up a lot of space in your bio, it doesn’t hurt to get more direct with your CTA. Make sure people know exactly what they need to do when they visit your profile by including a CTA in your bio. An example is you could invite them to visit your website, shop your feed, check out your latest blog post, download your new guide or even share their own photos using your branded hashtag.
  5. Using tracked links
    • Using programs such as Bitly, allows you to not only shorten the link but to also tap into a bunch of insights. Tracked links can show you where people are clicking from and how. This is useful information to understand your audience a bit better.
